The Adam Institute for Democracy and Peace
Established in 1987, the Adam Institute for Democracy and Peace is an educational nonprofit that offers original experiential programs on democracy and conflict resolution to schools (K-12th), universities, civil society, and the general population. We tailor our experiential learning to each age group, community, culture and sector, adapting our programs to current events. We imbue social activists with tools and training to realize their social change programs and projects. The Adam Institute has published 65 volumes and textbooks on democracy and related topics. Our international in-person seminars and digital learning online academy have a global reach.
We see diversity as a source of inspiration rather than a cause of constant conflict. Inculcating democratic values promotes tolerance and coexistence across religions, ethnicities and nationalities. Our educational programs foster and amplify human and civil rights. We facilitate Jewish-Arab & multicultural encounters on equality and safeguarding rights.
Our programs are taught using “Betzavta -Adam Institute’s facilitation method”, encouraging participants to reframe external conflicts as internal dilemmas. “Betzavta” incentivizes participants to look beyond all-or-nothing options to generate solutions that benefit everyone. It’s engaging, experiential learning based on philosophy, sociology—and fun.
